Mobile-Foundation-Anwendungen können mit Mobile-Foundation-Adaptern Mikroservices oder Unternehmens-Back-End-Services aufrufen. Da die Entwicklung von Adaptern jedoch Kenntnisse zum Mobile-Foundation-Framework erfordert, gibt es jetzt den API-Connector als alternativen Ansatz für die Verbindung zu Back-End-Mikroservices. Der API-Connector ermöglicht wie ein Adapter sichere Aufrufe über den OAuth-2.0-Mechanismus der Mobile Foundation. Mit dem API-Connector kann der Mobile-Foundation-Administrator Details von Mikroservices oder Unternehmens-Back-End-Services in der Mobile Foundation konfigurieren und implementieren.
Die Nodejs-ODo-Komponente der Mobile Foundation stellt eine Node.js-Umgebung bereit, mit der Entwickler Back-End- oder BFF-Mikroservices (Backend for Frontend) für mobile Apps erstellen können. Diese Komponente stellt benutzerfreundliche APIs bereit, mit deren Hilfe Entwickler von Mikroservices Mobile-Foundation-Services wie Push-Benachrichtigungen, Mobile Foundation Analytics und Liveaktualisierungen nutzen können.
